The castle lake is located in the municipality of Penkun in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
It was formed naturally and has an area of 0.84 km² with an average depth of 2.61 m. The bathing water quality of the lake is measured regularly and is classified as excellent.
In the lake there are eels , bream , perch , bream , pike , carp , roach , rudd , tench , catfish and perch .
