The Schmalenbach is a nearly two-kilometer long flowing water in Halver in the North Rhine-Westphalian Märkischer Kreis . It is a south-eastern and left tributary of the Löhbach .

course
The Schmalenbach rises below the town of Halver and east of the farm of the same name in the Flur Im Hahnenbeut at an altitude of 403 m above sea level. NHN . The source is directly north of the B 229 leading to Radevormwald .
It flows, accompanied by the B 229, in an almost westerly direction, first through fields, then through a coniferous forest and is then fed by the Schlotsiepen on its left side . The Schmalenbach now runs northwest through farmland along the western edge of a small deciduous forest and then takes on the Kirchlöher Siepen on its right side .
West of Eversberge , it turns north and finally flows into Beisen at an altitude of 336 m above sea level. NHN from the south and left into the Löhbach approaching from the east-northeast .
The 1.7 km long course of the Schmalenbach ends about 67 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of about 40 ‰.
Catchment area
The 0.956 km² catchment area of the Schmalenbach is drained through it via the Löhbach, Ennepe , Volme , Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the north and northeast to the catchment area of the Löhbach
- in the south to that of the Bolsenbach , which flows into the Ennepe
- and otherwise to that of Ennepe itself.
The catchment area in the area of the upper reaches is largely forested, otherwise arable land dominates.
