The Schmalenhofer Bach is a left tributary of the Blombach , which in turn flows into the Wupper . The brook belongs to the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Wuppertal .
Location and topography
The Schmalenhofer Bach rises at 302 meters above sea level. NN close Lichtscheid in the western part of the former Wuppertal site training area Scharpenacken east of Engineering Park Wuppertal (on the site of the former Colmar barracks ). Far from residential developments, it flows in an easterly direction through a deeply pronounced Kerbtal valley through the area of the Scharpenacken and receives the Hadberger Siefen, Gleichener Siefen and Scharpenacker Siefen tributaries. After crossing under the railway line Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Solingen , the stream flows after about two kilometers at 209 meters above sea level. NN in the Blombach.
etymology
The name of the brook is derived from the Schmalenhof , a farm on its upper course, which was abandoned when the training area was set up in 1936. Other places to live and farms by the stream were Schirpkotten and (Schirpkotter) Delle .
