Schnitzler edition projects

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The poor quality of Arthur Schnitzler's (1862–1931) book editions led to three separate edition projects at the University of Vienna , the University of Cambridge and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal , which together with the preparation of the handwritten estate materials , led to the expiry of the copyright on his texts want to make available.

Historical-critical edition of the early work (1880–1904)

The historical-critical edition funded by the Austrian FWF (Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research) under the direction of Konstanze Fliedl has been undertaking an "exact transcription and a text-critical and scientifically adequate documentation of the origin and transmission variants" since December 1, 2009. The criticism has so far reacted positively, with the exception of a dispute that took place in the features section of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung between Hans-Albrecht Koch and the editor. In June 2014, the FWF announced that it would finance the project for another three years, and in 2017 it was renewed.
