The Schopfige steppe candle ( Eremurus comosus ) is a type of plant from the genus steppe candles ( Eremurus ) in the subfamily of the Affodill family (Asphodeloideae).

features

The Schopfige steppe candle is a perennial , herbaceous plant that forms a rhizome and usually reaches heights of 70 to 100 (50 to 120) centimeters. The leaves are linear, keeled, hairy and usually 10 to 15 (6 to 30) millimeters wide. The perigone is narrow, bell-shaped, pink in color with dirty green nerves, and 8 to 11 millimeters long. After the flowering period, it is stuck together to form a cap and is thrown off by the growing fruit. The capsule fruit is pressed against the shaft, is spherical, smooth and has a diameter of 12 to 17 millimeters.

The flowering period extends from May to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14 + 6B.

Occurrence

The Schopfige eremurus comes in West Pamir-Alai in Ferula - Prangos - and Aegilops -Fluren, loose brambles and stony-gravelly slopes at altitudes from 800 to 1600, in part to 2000 meters before. The distribution area extends from Central Asia to Afghanistan.
