The Shchapina ( Russian Щапина , also Levaya Shchapina (Левая Щапина)) is a right tributary of the Kamchatka on the Kamchatka Peninsula .

The Shtschapina has its source about 50 km north of the Kronotskaya Sopka volcano in the eastern ridge of the southern Kamchatka Peninsula. It initially flows briefly in a north-westerly direction, but then turns to the south-west and flows through a high valley west of the Kisimen volcano, before changing its direction of flow to the north-west and flowing into the valley of the Kamchatka River. The largest tributary, the Pravaya Shchapina , flows into the Shchapina from the left. In the lower reaches of the river it has a series of meanders before it flows into the Kamchatka on the right. The Shchapina has a length of 172 km. It drains an area of ​​3420 km².

In the river are rainbow trout , Salvelinus white-spotted charr and grayling before. Various salmon fish swim up the river to spawn. These include sockeye salmon , ketal salmon and pink salmon .
