Schuppanzigh Quartet (Cologne)

The Schuppanzigh Quartet is in Cologne Canada based String Quartet - Ensemble , which was founded in the 1996th

Co-founder of the ensemble is Primarius Anton Steck ( violin ), former concertmaster at Musica Antiqua Cologne , Concerto Cologne and Les Musiciens du Louvre . The ensemble also includes Katja Grüttner (2nd violin, since 2018), Christian Goosses ( viola ) and Werner Matzke ( violoncello , since 2012). Former ensemble members were Christoph Mayer (2nd violin), Franc Polman (2nd violin), Jane Oldham (viola) and Antje Geusen (cello).

The quartet was named after the Austrian violinist and conductor Ignaz Schuppanzigh (1776–1830).
