The Schwandalpe , also Schwand-Alpe , is an alpine club hut of the Ulm section of the German Alpine Club and is located near Thalkirchdorf in the Oberallgäu district at 936 m above sea level.

Location and history

The Schwandalpe is located above Thalkirchdorf near Oberstaufen in the Konstanzertal. The Alpine Club Hut was purchased in 1964 and has been part of the Ulm Section since then. After the refurbishment and expansion of the hut, it was inaugurated on September 17, 1967.

reachability

In summer the Schwandalpe can be reached directly by car via a private road (authorization certificate can be obtained from the Ulm section's office). In winter the Schwand lift leads directly to the hut. The ski slope is covered with snow with snow cannons so that you can easily reach the Schwand even when there is little snow. On the weekends you can also ski with floodlights in the evenings. A connecting lift can be used from the Thalkirchdorfer ski lifts to the Hündle ski area.
