The Black-cranesbill ( Geranium psilostemon , Syn. : Geranium armenum . Boiss) is a plant from the family of geraniaceae (Geraniaceae). This species comes from northeastern Turkey and the southwestern Caucasus region and is often grown as an ornamental plant in the garden because of its beautiful flowers . Due to its height, the ornamental plant usually needs a support in summer.
description
It is an herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 80 to 120 centimeters. The basal leaves are up to 20 centimeters wide and are divided into 7 sections. The leaf sections are lobed or deeply toothed in the upper part. The leaves are only slightly hairy, the upper parts of the stem and the flowers are densely covered with glandular hairs. The striking magenta flowers with a black center and black veins appear from June to August. The petals are up to 18 millimeters long and wide. The anthers are blackish, the 2.5 to 3 millimeter large stigma is dark purple.
