Scialpi

Giovanni Scialpi (born May 14, 1962 in Parma ), known as Scialpi or Shalpy , is an Italian pop singer and actor . He became known in the 1980s through songs such as Rocking Rolling , Cigarettes and Coffee or No East, No West .

Career

Scialpi was launched on the television show Mr. Fantasy and debuted successfully in 1983 with the single Rocking Rolling . His first album was Estensioni , the next single was Cigarettes and Coffee (1984). The singer's style was based on electronically influenced British glam rock . In 1986 he took part in the Sanremo Festival for the first time and presented the song No East No West, co-written by Franco Migliacci . On the following album Scialpi he sang a duet with Dalila Di Lazzaro . In 1987 he presented Bella età in Sanremo , and in 1988 he won the Festivalbar competition with the song Pregherei together with Scarlett Von Wollerman .

In the 1990s Scialpi worked with Raffaella Carrà on television, released several albums and returned to Sanremo in 1992 with È una nanna (the song missed the finale). After that he gained experience in the theater and spent some time abroad. It was not until 2001 that he returned with the compilation Sì io sì! back to music. For the 20th anniversary of his career, the new album Spingi Invoca Ali was released in 2003 . In 2008 the singer appeared in the musical Rodolfo Valentino . After further publications, he officially changed his pseudonym from Scialpi to Shalpy in 2012 .

In 2015 Scialpi married his partner Roberto Blasi in New York . The two separated again in 2017.
