Scott Slimon
Scott Slimon (* 1915 in London , England ; † 1980 ibid.) Was a British production designer and art director .
Life
Slimon began his career on the film staff in 1947 as a textile designer on the set of Alexander Korda's comedy An Ideal Husband . He then worked as a prop master and set designer, before he worked as art director for three feature films in 1967. His films include The Day the Earth Catched Fire , The Torture Garden of Dr. Diabolo and The Witches' Death Cry . He also worked on the 1965 science fiction film Dr. Who and the Daleks , an offshoot of the television series Doctor Who starring Peter Cushing in the title role.
1960 he was for Joseph L. Mankiewiczs drama Suddenly, Last Summer , together with Oliver Messel and William waiter for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design nominated, but the award went this year to the literary film The Diary of Anne Frank .
His last work was the horror film The Death Scream of the Witches , after which he retired from the film business.
