Sebastian Carlos Arcelus (born November 5, 1976 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .
Career
Arcelus became known to a larger audience through his participation in the television series House of Cards . In this, he played 17 episodes between 2013 and 2016 as the reporter Lucas Goodwin , who wants to expose the criminal activities of Congressman Frank Underwood .
In the television series Madam Secretary , in which he in the role of political adviser Jay Whitman , the Secretary of State of the United States advises he played with from 2014 to 2019.
