Heiko Krogmann

Heiko Krogmann (born February 11, 1961 ) is a German brigadier general and was commander of the pioneers training center until March 31, 2016 . Since April 1, 2016, he has been employed in the Office for Army Development in Cologne , since October 2019 as Chief of Staff and Deputy Head of Office.

Krogmann joined the German Armed Forces on July 1, 1980 at Pioneer Battalion 3 in Stade . From 1980 to 1985 officer training followed at the Pioneer School in Munich and the Army Officer School in Hanover as well as a degree in economics and organizational sciences at the Helmut Schmidt University (at that time still "University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg") in Hamburg , that he graduated with a degree in business administration. From 1985 to 1989 he was deployed again in Stade, initially as a platoon leader , later he was transferred to Elmenhorst as a reconnaissance officer of the Panzer Pioneer Company 160 .

His first assignment as a disciplinary superior led him to Koblenz from 1989 to 1992 , where he led a company of the 310 Pioneer Battalion. Then he was a year as a personnel officer of the III. After participating in the 36th Army General Staff Course (1993-1995) at the Command Academy , he was employed as an officer for operational issues (G3) at the Army Command, Army Office (both in Koblenz) and the Office for Studies and Exercises in Waldbröl until 2000 .

Again as a troop leader, he was deployed from 2000 to 2002 in Gera as battalion commander of Pioneer Battalion 701. From 2002 to 2004, Krogmann was again employed in staff assignments, including as head of the budget and armaments department in the Army Office, and in the meantime, from 2004 to 2005, as a personal assistant to the chief armaments department in the Federal Ministry of Defense .

In 2008 he became head of division in the armed forces ' command staff in the area of ​​capability analysis, from 2011 to 2012 in the same division head of division in the armed forces command staff , after which he was responsible for basics of capability development in the planning department of the Ministry. On December 7, 2012, Krogmann was appointed commander of the Army Pioneer School and Technical College for Structural Engineering, at the same time he held the position of General of the Pioneer Troop . In this role, Krogmann was promoted to brigadier general. He has been employed in the Army Development Office since April 2016, and Lutz Niemann has been his successor .

From 2007 to 2008, Krogmann worked abroad as a senior mentor as part of the ISAF mission to Afghanistan , where he was deployed to support the commanding general of the 209th corps of the Afghan armed forces.
