Sebastian Grünewald (* 1984 in Coburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Sebastian Grünewald completed his acting studies at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig from 2004 to 2008 . From 2006 to 2008 he was a member of the drama studio of the Schauspiel Leipzig during his training .

After completing his studies, he started his first permanent engagement at the Centraltheater Leipzig from the beginning of the 2008/09 season until the end of 2010 . He stepped there u. a. as Don Carlos and Bauer Pierrot in Molière 's Don Juan (2008, director: Jürgen Kruse ), as the crazy nephew Teddy Brewster in arsenic and lace (2009, director: Sebastian Hartmann ) and several times in productions under the direction of Martin Laberenz , u. a. in Idiots (after Lars von Trier ), Maybe - Maybe not (after D'Annunzio ) and The Abolition of Species (after Dath / Laberenz).

Grünewald has been working as a freelance actor since 2010. He had guest engagements at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe (2011), at the bat-Theater Berlin (season 2012/13; as Carlos in Clavigo ), at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf (season 2013/14, in Der Spieler , directed by Martin Laberenz), at the Staatstheater Hannover (2013/14 season, in Corpus Delicti after Juli Zeh , director: Lars-Ole Walburg ) and at Theater Basel (2015, in The Visit of the Old Lady ).

In the 2012/13 season he returned to the Centraltheater Leipzig for two productions. Directed by Martin Laberenz, he played Raskolnikow in Debt and Atonement and Clov in Endgame .

Since 2011 he has been a regular guest at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where he a. a. worked with Brit Bartkowiak , Stephan Kimmig and Martin Laberenz. His roles there included a. Peter Niles in Mourning must carry Elektra (season 2011/12, director: Stephan Kimmig), Maitre Jaques / La Flèche in Der Geizige (season 2015/16, director: Martin Laberenz) and Hans Castorp in Der Zauberberg (season 2015/16, Director: Martin Laberenz). In the 2016/17 season he played in Elfriede Jelinek's play WUT in the Kammerspiele of the German Theater. In 2017 he appeared at the Hanover Theater as Cléante in Tartuffe ; He also took on this role in the other performances in the 2017/18 season.

Occasionally Grünewald also stood in front of the camera for film and television. In the German television film Stilles Tal (2011) he had a supporting role as Sergeant Brückner. He also appeared in several episodes of the international crime series The Team (2015) in a supporting role as Septimus; he embodied the son-in-law of the Lithuanian gangster and human trafficker Marius Loukauskis ( Nicholas Ofczarek ). In April 2018 he was seen in the ARD television series In allerfreund - The young doctors in a leading role in the episode; he was Ingo Danquard, the trainer of a young restaurant specialist and illiterate .

Grünewald also works as a speaker, u. a. for advertising and radio plays . He has lived in Berlin since 2010 .
