Sebastian Huber (philosopher)

Sebastian Huber (* May 17, 1860 ; † August 12, 1919 ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising , university professor, cathedral dean and, as vicar general, closest collaborator to the archbishops Franziskus von Bettinger and Michael von Faulhaber .

Life

After studying philosophy and theology, Huber was ordained a priest on June 19, 1886. He received his doctorate in philosophy (Dr. phil.) And taught from 1893 as a professor of philosophy at the Lyceum in Freising, the later Philosophical-Theological University of Freising . From 1914 he took over the task of dean of the cathedral in Munich , and was vicar general of Archbishop Bettinger from January 16 until his death on April 12, 1917. Immediately thereafter, he administered the archbishopric interim as vicar capitular and took over again from September 3, 1917 Task of the Vicar General on behalf of the new Archbishop Michael von Faulhaber.
