Sebastian Wartig

Sebastian Wartig (* 1989 in Dresden ) is a German opera and concert singer ( baritone ).

Life

Wartig was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor from 1998 to 2008 . Since 2008 he has been studying with Kammersänger Roland Schubert at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig , where he completed his diploma and the master class. Wartig has been a member of the ensemble of the Semperoper Dresden since the 2013/14 season . In 2013, Wartig appeared on the TV show Stars von Morgen , hosted by Rolando Villazón .

At the 2014 New Year's Eve concert at the Semperoper he was heard as Feri in the operetta Die Csárdásfürstin alongside Anna Netrebko and Juan Diego Flórez . The concert, conducted by Christian Thielemann , was broadcast on ZDF . At the New Year's Eve concert of ZDF 2018, which was also broadcast on ZDF, wear Wartig as Dr. Falcon in The Bat Up .

His operatic repertoire includes Colas ( Bastien and Bastienne ), Momus ( Platée ), Sid ( Albert Herring ), Graf ( The Marriage of Figaro ), Papageno ( The Magic Flute ), Marullo ( Rigoletto ), Moralès ( Carmen ), Schaunard and Marcello ( La Bohème ), father ( Hansel and Gretel ), Melot ( Tristan and Isolde ), Harlequin ( Ariadne auf Naxos ), Boris ( Moscow, Tscherjomuschki ), Frank and Fritz ( Die tote Stadt ), and Kaiser Overall ( Der Kaiser from Atlantis ). In addition, he designed the operetta roles Dr. Falke and Frank ( Die Fledermaus ) and Feri ( Die Csárdásfürstin ).

Wartig's oratorio repertoire includes a. Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio and St. John Passion , Georg Friedrich Handel's Utrecht Te Deum , Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Te Deum and Johannes Brahms ' German Requiem .
