Giuseppe Carata

Giuseppe Carata (born June 9, 1915 in Lecce , † January 25, 2003 in Bisceglie ) was an Italian clergyman and archbishop of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie-Nazareth .

Life

Giuseppe Carata was ordained a priest on January 30, 1938 .

The Pope appointed him on May 17, 1965 auxiliary bishop in Trani e Barletta e Nazareth e Bisceglie and titular bishop of the Praesidium . The Secretary of the Consistorial Congregation , Carlo Cardinal Confalonieri , consecrated him bishop on June 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Reginaldo Giuseppe Maria Addazi OP , Archbishop of Trani e Barletta e Bisceglie e Nazareth, and Francesco Minerva , Bishop of Lecce .

He attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council . Paul VI appointed him on April 8, 1967 titular Bishop of Cannae . On August 28, 1971, he was appointed Archbishop of Trani e Barletta e Nazareth e Bisceglie. On December 15, 1990, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
