The Seehügel is a 953 m high mountain in the Fichtel Mountains . It is located in the Schneeberg massif and there directly south of the Nusshardt . The village of Fichtelberg is closest to the mountain . Nearby mountains are also the Ochsenkopf in the west and the Platte in the southeast.
The mountain was called Farnleiten in 1492, then Farenleutten, Farleite, Farnleiten, Hohe Farrenleithen, mostly the entire south-west slope was named after. It wasn't until 1799 that the name Seeberg, i.e. the mountain above the Fichtelsee, was first found .
The European watershed between the North Sea and the Black Sea runs over the lake hill . In addition, the southern end point of the main river watershed between the Rhine and Elbe catchment areas is located here , making it the watershed point between the largest main river catchment areas that meet in Germany.
Former mining

Tourist development
The Franconian Mountain Trail , the Höhenweg , the Seenweg and the Mittelweg of the Fichtelgebirgsverein run over the mountain . The Seehaus, the accommodation facility of the Fichtelgebirgsverein, is located on the western slope at 922 m .
