The Seehofpark in Frankfurt am Main is a 2.7 hectare public park on the eastern edge of Sachsenhausen with a playground, playground and football field.

history

The park area has belonged to the city of Frankfurt am Main since 1842. The Seehofpark has had an eventful history in the past thanks to a spring that was caught on site in 1857 . Fish ponds are known from the beginning . A manor was later built there and a waterworks started operating in 1859 . The water was used by breweries, market gardens and the municipal slaughterhouse . Today the water from the spring is used as process water for the Deutschherrnviertel . In 1911 the area was set up as a public park and opened to the public.

The park is part of the Frankfurt green belt and thus the nature reserve green belt and green corridors in the city of Frankfurt am Main .

location

The Seehofpark belongs to the southern Main district of Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. It is located south of the Mühlberg on Seehofsweg - on the eastern edge of a residential area and close to the district boundary to the neighboring Oberrad to the east .

Transport links

The Frankfurt Seehofpark is connected to the local public transport (ÖPNV) via the Lettigkautweg tram stop to the north . Lines 15 and 16 of the Frankfurt am Main tram stop there . From the bus stop it is a five-minute walk to the park.
