Seelenzorn is a band from Darmstadt . It combines electronics with hard rock and metal guitars and can be attributed to the New German Hardship .
history
The future Seelenzorn founders Jens Clemens and Lothar Seewald played their first concert at a Halloween party in 2003 in the Steinbruchtheater in Mühltal . They played a song called "Dance in Hell" that was sung by Toni Anthogalidis. At the end of a home-burned came Demo - CD in circulation, 'including the first versions of Clemens Seelenzorn songs. The original version of “Was Du Träumst” can be found on the sound carrier.
At the beginning of 2004, Jens Clemens and Lothar Seewald decide to officially found Seelenzorn. Toni Anthogalidis was later accepted into the band and Clemens contributed to the sampler of the alternative record label Underground Nation . A first live concept came about when some dancers joined the band. In May 2004 the first EP “ Lebenszeichen” was created . In June of the same year the band played their first gig as Seelenzorn which recorded and later as a live album "08 ° 42'32 N" E 49 ° 55'05 diary was published. At the end of the year the band played as the opening act for Das Ich in Münster (Hesse) .
At the beginning of 2005 the band signed a record deal with the underground label Danse Macabre by Bruno Kramm (Das Ich). Seelenzorn played at the Winter Embrace Festival with Lacrimas Profundere and Schelmish . Work on her debut album Toete Alles extended over the spring and was completed in March 2005. The studio guitarist Eddie was accepted into the band after the recording work. The album was released in early May and was well received by the music press. Among others, music magazines such as Orkus , Zillo , Sonic Seducer and Legacy became aware of them.
Their first international appearance took place in June 2005 at the Eyneburg in Belgium . The band also played in July at the Bochum Total Festival in front of several thousand spectators and played as the opening act for ASP's Aus der Tief tour. At the end of the year work began on their second album Merciless Zorn .
In early 2006, Seelenzorn played as the opening act for Xandria and released the remixes of the two songs “Atemlos” (Das Ich) and “Werben” (ASP). The second web EP Schwarz und Schwer was released in May . In October the band was supplemented by bassist Peter Teicher. In April 2007 Gnadenloser Zorn , the second studio album, was released and the two dancers Siska and Nina left the band in May. Arndt joined the band as a drummer . In August Kai was accepted as a guitarist.
In 2008 the band announced their best-of- CD УБЕЙ ТВОЙ ГНЕВ ( Russian : toete your anger ) with a ten-day tour of Russia . In September 2008 the ex- Blind Guardian drummer Thomas “Thomen” Stauch joins the band. With him they released the web EP Keine Angst in November 2008, followed by several concerts and festival appearances.
Michael 'Maikel' Müller has been the band's drummer since 2010.
Singer and founder Jens Clemens died on July 9, 2015.
