Corsair is a board game from game designer Stefan Dorra that the gameplay a card game comes close. It was launched by Queen Games in early 2006 and was nominated as one of five games for the Game of the Year Critics' Award that same year .

A game for 3 to 5 people aged 8 and up takes about 30 minutes.

Theme and equipment

The players put together teams of pirates and board sailing ships with them . The captain must ensure that the booty brings in more than he owes his crew in wages. The pirates are represented by colored wooden disks with colored stickers. The ships to be boarded are cards with a picture and all information about the strength, value of the booty and other details. The ducats and valuables from the loot are symbolized by cardboard tiles.
