Seff Heil
Josef "Seff" Heil (born April 29, 1929 in Alt Sattl , Czechoslovakia ; † January 21, 2000 in Amberg ) was a German folk curator and expert in the historic Egerland .
Life
Josef Heil first attended the elementary school in his place of birth and then the community school in Falkenau an der Eger . In 1943 he began an apprenticeship as an electrician at Verwertungsgesellschaft Montanindustrie mbH (from 1944 Montan-Industriewerke GmbH), but at the age of 15 he was called up for military service due to the ongoing World War .
After the end of the war, he fled to Bavaria at the end of 1945 for fear of forced labor in Czechoslovak mines , where he made up and completed his electrician apprenticeship from 1948 to 1950 in Naring near Miesbach . In 1957 he married Lore Holl, with whom he later had three daughters, and moved to Sulzbach-Rosenberg, his adopted home . In 1958 he passed the master craftsman's examination in Bremen and from then on worked as a master electrician and department head at Elektro Grasser in Amberg .
Since he moved to Munich, he has volunteered in several Sudeten German cultural associations. Among other things, he was a member of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft as well as on the board of the Eghalanda Gmoin (from 1989 until his death as head of the federal government) and on the executive committee of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund . He has received several awards for his cultural commitment.
