Seidu Yahaya (born December 31, 1989 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player . The midfielder has been under contract with Sheriff Tiraspol since 2015 .

Career

Yahaya came to Europe in the summer of 2008 at the age of 18 when he joined Greek second division club Anagennisi Karditsa . There he conquered a regular place in the midfield and just managed to stay in the league with his club in 15th place. Then he signed the Greek top club AEK Athens . There he could not prevail and came in the 2009/10 season only three missions. In the summer of 2010 he left the club and was without engagement for six months before he was hired by the Israeli first division club Maccabi Haifa in early 2011 . There he was able to win his first title with the 2011 championship. In the following season he played in almost all of his club's league games and played with his club after missing the Champions League qualification in the Europa League (including against FC Schalke 04 ), but was eliminated in the group stage.

In the summer of 2012, Yahaya moved to the Romanian first division club Astra Giurgiu . There he became a regular player straight away and finished the 2012/13 season with his team in fourth place, which meant the Europa League qualification . In the 2013/14 season he missed the first ten games, and his team was able to surpass the success of the previous season when the league runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest and the Romanian Cup was won. In the summer of 2015 he moved to the Moldovan record champions Sheriff Tiraspol , with whom he won the championship in 2016 and 2017 .
