The German Alpine Association, Section Rhineland-Cologne e. V. ( Cologne Alpine Club for short ) is the tenth largest section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) in Germany. With 18,836 members, the Cologne Alpine Club is also one of the largest sports clubs in Germany . The section is the second largest club in Cologne after 1. FC Köln . The Cologne Alpine Club was founded on February 19, 1876 as the "Rhineland Section" and is thus the oldest DAV section in the Rhineland .
