The Selangor langur ( Trachypithecus selangorensis ) is a primate species from the group of the slender monkeys (Presbytini), which occurs on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula in the Malay states of Kedah , Perak , Selangor , Negeri Sembilan , Malacca and in the southwest of Johor .

The Selangor langur reaches a head-trunk length of about 49 cm (females) and 50.6 to 53.5 cm (males) and a tail length of 68 cm (females) and 70.4 to 82.3 cm (males) ). Its fur is uniformly dark gray, the face and the bare palms and feet are black. Colored dark circles under the eyes are only hinted at. Newborn selangor langurs have orange fur and whitish skin on their faces, hands, and feet.
Way of life
The Selangor langur mainly inhabited rain forests along rivers and mangrove forests , now and then plantations, where it comes sympatric with the Southern Brillenlangur ( T. obscurus ), the Banded Surili ( Presbytis femoralis ) and the White Schenk leagues langur ( Presbytis siamensis ) ago. It lives in groups with one male and many females, which consist of 11 to 38 individual animals, or in smaller groups, which are composed only of males. Individual males were also observed. Selangor langurs are relatively true to location and only move over distances of 200 to 500 meters during the day, usually led by a male. The area size is between 20 and 43 ha . Leaves make up about 90% of its diet, and fruits, seeds, flowers and young shoots are also eaten.
Danger
The Selangor langur is not listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources ( IUCN ). The main threats to the species are deforestation and forest fires.
