Seligenstadt near Würzburg (official name Seligenstadt b.Würzburg ) is a village in the municipality Prosselsheim in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg , Bavaria . The village is on the open ground just under 14 kilometers northeast of Würzburg .
history
At the beginning of the 19th century there was only the station for the neighboring Gut Seligenstadt and Prosselsheim on the site . Seligenstadt was established in 1935 with the construction of an air base for the German Air Force with fuel and ammunition stores. After the Second World War , a residential camp was set up for displaced persons from eastern Germany . The current housing estate grew out of this.

The state road St 2260 runs through the village. From there, the district road WÜ 5 / KT 7 branches off to Gut Seligenstadt and Euerfeld .
In a north-south direction, the Bamberg – Rottendorf railway crosses the town with the Seligenstadt stop (near Würzburg) . The Mainschleifenbahn towards Volkach-Astheim begins just north at the Seligenstadt Mainschleifenbahn stop . Both railway lines are currently not connected.
