history
Semcon was founded in 1980 in Västerås , Sweden . It is listed as a stock corporation on the OMX in Stockholm .
In March 2007 Semcon first acquired the German development service provider IVM Automotive with around 850 employees from the automotive supplier Edscha and shortly afterwards, in August 2007, its Swedish competitor Caran . Both companies were completely absorbed by the Semcon Group.
On March 1, 2017, the "Engineering Services Germany" division was sold to Valmet Automotive .
On April 16, 2018, Semcon took over HAAS-Publications GmbH in Germany in order to strengthen its presence in the German technical documentation market.
