Semebat
Semebat ( Basque ' a son ') is a variety-protected red wine variety .
It is a new breed of INRA in Bordeaux under the direction of the Basque Durquéty in 1956. Durquéty crossed the grape varieties Baroque and Malbec . Pierre Marcel Durquety realized a number of new varieties between 1950 and 1980, seven of which were granted plant variety protection. These include the four red wine varieties Arinarnoa , Egiodola , Ekigaïna and Semebat, as well as the three white wine varieties Arriloba , Liliorila and Perdea .
Semebat is rarely grown in France. The grape variety produces a fruity wine with an intense color. The variety has been approved for commercial cultivation in the Sud-Ouest wine-growing region since 1985 . So far, a clone with the number 746 has been selected. Semebat is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphroditic flowers and is therefore self-fruiting. In viticulture , the economic disadvantage of not having to grow male plants that produce yield is avoided
Semebat ripens around 20-25 days after the Gutedel .
