The transmitter Bopfingen is a transmitter of the Südwestrundfunk (formerly the Süddeutscher Rundfunk ), which is used for radio and is located in a forest south of the city of Bopfingen at an altitude of 639 meters.
It uses a 52.5 meter high prefabricated concrete tower, which was erected in 1973, as an antenna carrier and serves as a VHF filling transmitter, the program of which should originally have been broadcast from a new transmission tower to be built on the Ipf north of Bopfingen, but it never came to construction so the frequency was shifted to this location. Another transmitter location in Bopfingen is on the Karkstein.
