On the 433-meter-high Sommerrankenberg near the Magdalenenkappel district of Burgebrach , Deutsche Telekom AG operates the 153-meter-high Burgwindheim transmitter (also known as Burgwindheim 1 radio transmission point ) for VHF , mobile communications and directional radio .
A concrete beam attachment with a tubular steel beam is used as the antenna carrier . The foundation diameter is 20 meters. The shaft length of the transmitter is 128 meters high. At a height of 100 m, 108 m, 116 m and 120 m, the tower has platforms for mobile communications and directional antennas.
The total costs for the construction of the transmitter amounted to 6.43 million DM .
