Senneterre is a city ( Ville ) in the west of the Canadian province of Québec .
The small town is located in the MRC La Vallée-de-l'Or in the administrative region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue . It was founded in 1919. In 1956 it received city rights. Senneterre is located on the banks of the Rivière Bell, not far from the southern end of Lac Parent . In 2006 Senneterre had 2867 inhabitants.
In terms of traffic, the city is connected to the highway network of the province of Québec via Route 113 and Route 386 . Cities in the vicinity are Amos and Val-d'Or in the west and Lebel-sur-Quévillon in the north.
There is also an old railway line that is still served coming from Montréal.
