Serdar Thenk Yildiz (born February 27, 1975 in Hamm ) is a Turkish dancer, musician and promoter from Frankfurt am Main . In his career he worked under different names, u. a. Thenkof , Thenkman , Jib Jigga and Thenksta .

Life

Serdar Thenk Yildiz's family is originally from Turkey; his parents come from the Erzincan region and are members of the Alevi ethnic group of the Balaban . In addition to the Turkish language, they also speak the Zazaki language . During his childhood he lived in Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia and later in Hesse.

In 1989 he started dancing under the name Thenkof and in 1995 he became a dancer for the music label Looptown Records. Together with the artists DJ Mahmut & Murat G. he toured Germany several times and took part twice in the international hip-hop exchange “Le Fonque Connection” between Germany and France. Thenkof later worked as a break dance teacher and as a choreographer, initially at youth centers and later at the Screamfactory Institute of Performing Arts in Frankfurt.

After his dance career, Thenk started his own business as Thenkman and founded the event and promotion agency DefPro Entertainment. He promoted and coached national and international artists, including the US dance legend Shabba-Doo , Franca Morgano and Mopreme Shakur . Serdar produced the music documentary Money Train & Thenkman - A German Hip Hop Summer with US screenwriter David L. Watts , which contains interviews with artists such as Xavier Naidoo , Chuck D , Samy Deluxe and Guru . In 2005 production was started on the XX. Black International Film Festival in the Babylon cinema in Berlin.

As a hip-hop activist, Thenkman founded the hip-hop platform Propz City, where he has released five rap mix tapes since 2007 with the participation of over 100 rappers. For Universal Music Group , Thenkman worked as a record promoter for Frankfurt from 2009 to 2018 and organized over 47 official album release parties in various clubs in southern Germany.

Since 2010 Serdar Thenk Yildiz has also been a small actor in TV series, short films and feature films. He stood in front of the camera in the TV series Tatort and Ein Fall für Zwei, as well as in the movies What a Man and Endmaker .

Under the name Jib Jigga , he released the mixtape Natural Born Jigga in 2015 , followed a year later by the second mixtape and then the Best of Natural Born Jigga Mixtapes . Serdar Thenk Yildiz was also active as a comedian , under the name Thenksta he went on the Uff Geht's Tour in 2016 .

After studying web design & development at the SAE Institute in Frankfurt, Serdar Thenk Yildiz worked in graphic design under the name Thenksart . In addition to websites, he also designed CD covers for artists, including Sir Waldo Weathers , DJ Revolution and Kurtis Blow . His first book was published in 2016, the children's and non-fiction book VeggyFlow - The diversity of nature in harmony .
