Sergei Igorevich Ostaptschuk ( Russian Сергей Игоревич Остапчук , Belarusian Сяргей Ігаравіч Астапчук / Syarhey Iharawitsch Astaptschuk * 19th March 1990 in Navapolatsk , Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic ; † 7. September 2011 in Tunoschna in Yaroslavl ) was a Russian - Belarusian ice hockey player , who during his Career including at Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Continental Hockey League was under contract.
Career
Sergei Ostaptschuk began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Chimik-SKA Navapolazk . From there, the winger moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose second team he was active in the third-class Pervaya League from 2006 to 2008 . He then played for a year for the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda in the Canadian junior league QMJHL . There he was able to convince right away and scored 30 goals in a total of 66 games. He also gave 37 templates. Because of his achievements, he was elected to the league's all-rookie team.
For the 2009/10 season Ostaptschuk initially returned to Lokomotive Yaroslavl. After he could not convince in eight games in the Continental Hockey League founded a year earlier and remained pointless - at the same time he played three games for Lokomotives junior team in the first-ever multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League - he spent the entire remaining season with the Huskies again de Rouyn-Noranda in Canada. Since the 2010/11 season , the native Belarusian with a Russian passport was regularly on the ice for the professional team of Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the KHL, while at the same time he continued to occasionally appear for their juniors in the MHL. On September 7, 2011, he was killed in a plane crash near Yaroslavl .
