ISS expedition 5

The fifth regular crew ( ISS Expedition 5 ) of the International Space Station started on June 5, 2002 on board the US space shuttle Endeavor as part of the STS-111 mission and docked with the ISS on June 7.

Sergei Treschtschow performed an outboard activity during his six-month stay on the space station. He and his colleague Valeri Korsun installed a container on the Sarja module, which was supposed to hold equipment for later exits. They also attached new material samples to the Zvezda module for the materials experiment by the Japanese space agency JAXA .
