Sergei Petrovich Borodin

Sergei Petrovich Borodin ( Russian Сергей Петрович Бородин ., Scientific transliteration Sergei Petrovich Borodin ; born September 12 . Jul / 25. September  1902 greg. In Moscow ; †  22. June 1974 in Tashkent ) was a Russian writer .

Sergei Borodin was born in Moscow on October 8, 1902, the son of a nobleman. His mother came from a Tatar dynasty from Kassimow . Borodin spent his youth in the city of Belyov in the Tula governorate . Borodin began writing at an early age and his first poems appeared in the Almanac Rubeschi ( Рубежи ) in 1922 . From 1922 to 1926 he attended the Literary-Artistic Institute ( Высший литературно-художественный институт ) in Moscow.

From 1923 to 1926 he took part in excursions to the Central Asian republics. He later worked in the Far East, Kazakhstan , Tajikistan , Armenia and the Pamirs . In 1951 he moved to Tashkent.

In 1932 the novels Poslednjaja Bukhara ( Последняя Бухара , German The Last Bukhara ) and Jegiptjanin ( Египтянин , German The Egyptian ) appeared. His most important works are Dmitri Donskoi ( Дмитрий Донской ), a historical novel about the struggle of the Russian people against the Tatar invasion in the 14th century. For the novel he received the Stalin Prize in 1942 . Furthermore, Stars over Samarkand ( Звёзды над Самаркандом ), a historical trilogy that also artistically deals with the history of the Russians.

The Borodin Museum in Tashkent has existed since 1981.
