Ridsik was initially an alpine ski racer . From December 2007 he took part in FIS races and national championships, especially in the slalom and giant slalom disciplines . However, there were no notable successes, which is why he last competed in an alpine ski race in April 2011. From February 2012, Ridsik started as a ski crosser in the European Cup, where he finished in the points for the first time a month later. At the Junior World Championships in 2012 and 2013 in Chiesa in Valmalenco , he finished seventh. He completed his first World Cup race on February 19, 2013 in Sochi and finished in 36th place. He scored World Cup points for the first time on December 15, 2013 with place 27 in Val Thorens .
In the 2014/15 season , Ridsik achieved a significant increase in performance. In the World Cup he was among the top ten three times, including two second places on February 6 and 7, 2015 in Arosa . In the discipline ranking, this resulted in tenth place. At the season highlight, the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , he finished 15th. In the 2015/16 World Cup season , he was unable to maintain the level of the pre-winter season. The best result was a sixth place, also in the following season 2016/17 . After the 2017/18 season had started rather moderately, Ridsik won his first World Cup victory on December 15, 2017 in Montafon . He won the bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
