Sergey Chemezov ( Russian Сергей Викторович Чемезов * 20th August 1952 in Cheremkhovo , Irkutsk Oblast ) is a Russian manager .

Life

Chemezov studied economics at the Irkutsk Institute of Economics (currently the State University of Economics and Law of the Baikal Region ). He then studied at the Military Academy of the General Staff . He worked at the Irkutsk Science and Research Institute for Rare and Non-Ferrous Metals.

Chemezov currently heads the Russian armaments company Rostec . He is a member of the supervisory boards of OAK (since 2006), of United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC (since 2007), of Rusnano (since 2011), of MMC Norilsk Nickel (March 2013), of Aeroflot (since 2011), of Rosneft (2013) and from Uralkali (since March 2014).

On April 28, 2014 the US government and on September 12, 2014 the EU imposed an account and entry ban on Chemezov. According to the sanctions ordinance, Chemezov is a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin from joint KGB times in Dresden .

Chemezov is married to the engineer Ekaterina Ignatova and has four children.

As the shadow minister for the armaments industry at the side of the Russian president, Chemezov behaves quite inconspicuously in public. In 2014, the annual income of the Chemezov family was 2.126 billion rubles (more than 30 million euros). According to Radio Free, the minister is said to have owned several properties, residential buildings, commercial non-residential buildings, garages, etc. across Russia. His second wife, Ekaterina Ignatova, has six lots with a total area of ​​26,000 square meters.
