Sergio Castelletti (born December 30, 1937 in Casale Monferrato , † November 28, 2004 in Florence ) was an Italian football player and coach . He played in the position of defender .

Career

Sergio Castelletti moved from Vigevano Calcio to Fiorentina in the 1958/59 season , where he immediately belonged to the regular formation. In Florence he was able to celebrate great successes as a result. In the 1960/61 season, Castelletti won both the Coppa Italia and the European Cup Winners' Cup with the viola under Nándor Hidegkuti . The following season was also very successful, with Florence taking an excellent 3rd place in Serie A and again reaching the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, where they failed, however, at Atlético Madrid . In his eighth and last season in Florence , Casteletti was able to celebrate his third title in the viola jersey. As in 1960/61 , the Coppa Italia was won in 1965/66 . After more than 200 games for Fiorentina, Castelletti moved to league rivals Lazio Rome . His start in Rome was anything but successful as Lazio relegated to Serie B at the end of the season .
