Serhij Jurijowytsch Nykyforow ( Ukrainian Сергій Юрійович Никифоров ; born February 6, 1994 in Brovary ) is a Ukrainian long jumper .
Athletic career
Serhij Nykyforow gained his first international experience at the U23 European Championships 2015 in Tallinn , where he was eliminated with 7.19 m in qualification, as well as at the European Championships 2016 in Amsterdam with 7.59 m. At the 2017 European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , he won the bronze medal behind the Albanian Izmir Smajlaj and the Swede Michel Tornéus with a jump distance of 8.07 meters . He also took part in the World Championships in London and was eliminated there with 7.47 m in the first round . At the European Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2018 , he again took bronze with a jump distance of 8.13 meters behind the Greek Miltiadis Tendoglou and the German Fabian Heinle . Nykyforow finished fifth at the 2019 European Indoor Championships .
In 2016 and 2018 Nykyforow was Ukrainian champion in the long jump outdoors and between 2015 and 2018 in the hall.
