Serhiy Smelyk

Serhij Wolodymyrowytsch Smelyk ( Ukrainian Сергій Володимирович Смелик , English transcription Serhiy Smelyk; born April 19, 1987 in Krasnodon , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian sprinter .

In 2012 he was fifth over 100 m at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and was disqualified in the prerun over 200 m due to a false start. At the Olympic Games in London he was eliminated over 200 m in the preliminary run.

In 2013 he won the Universiade in Kazan in the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the World Athletics Championships in Moscow , he reached the semi-finals over 200 m and failed with the Ukrainian 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

The following year he won bronze at the European Championships in Zurich and was eliminated in the preliminary round with the Ukrainian 4 x 100 meter relay. At the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech he was fifth over 200 m.

At the 2015 World Athletics Championships, he did not get past the first lap in both the 200 m and the 4-by-100-meter relay .
