The Seymaz is a 15 km long tributary of the Arve in the Swiss canton of Geneva . It is the only river that runs exclusively in the area of the canton of Geneva. The Seymaz drains an area of 38.43 km².
course
The Seymaz rises in the area of the municipality of Collonge-Bellerive east of Lake Geneva , but shortly afterwards it crosses over to the Meinier area . The river initially runs in a south-easterly direction to the confluence of the Chambet stream , which rises in the woods near Gy . After its confluence, the river now flows in a south-westerly direction and immediately afterwards takes on the small stream Chamboton . It flows through the municipality of Choulex and forms its outermost southwestern border with Puplinge . A little later it leaves the area of the municipality of Choulex and now forms the border of Vandœuvres with the municipality of Thônex and a little later a small part with that to the municipality of Chêne-Bourg . The river, which now runs in a southerly direction, leaves Vandœuvres and now forms the border between Chêne-Bourg and Chêne-Bougeries until it flows into the Arve.
