The crashed Boeing 737-400 ( registration number AP-BJO ) still with the livery of the previous owner Malaysia Airlines
The company had a total of two serious incidents during its operation. Boeing 737-400s were involved in both cases .
- On December 30, 2012, the Boeing 737-400 AP-BJN landed in Lahore from Karachi Airport and deviated from the runway (a bird strike may have occurred during the landing ). The left landing gear collapsed in the grass off the track. As a result, the aircraft was written off.
- On November 3, 2015, the Boeing 737-400 AP-BJO landed in Lahore from Karachi. Due to insufficient visibility for a VOR / DME approach procedure, the crew decided to land on the instrument landing on runway 36R, which was closed for maintenance, and then to switch to runway 36L as soon as 36L was in sight. For this purpose, the crew applied for an RNAV landing for which the AP-BJO was not technically equipped. When the crew finally saw the runway, it was actually too late to correct course. The captain, who was subsequently overwhelmed, did not physically give the first officer control of the aircraft, even though he acoustically gave it to him. The aircraft touched down around 1,400 feet in front of the runway and to the left of the center line at around 300 km / h. First the left landing gear collapsed, then the right. No person was injured in this incident either, but alcohol was subsequently recorded in the blood of the captain and the aircraft had to be written off.
