Sharon Blynn (* 1. January 1972 in Miami , Florida ) is an American actress . In addition to her acting activities, she is an activist who campaigns intensively for public awareness of the fight against cancer , which she herself defeated in 2003.

Early years

Sharon Blynn was born with her twin sister Elisa in Miami, Florida, where she grew up. In her youth she did sports and played various musical instruments. In 1989 she moved to New York to after high school graduation from Barnard College, Columbia University studying ethnomusicology with cum laude graduated. She also studied architecture as a minor. After graduation, she worked for a music brokerage agency for a year before she was hired as a marketing assistant at Verve Records and later became a marketing manager.

In 2000 she left Verve and initially spent time in Europe. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer that same year after she returned to Miami. After three years of treatment across the Miami area, combined with chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, she was declared cured in January 2003.

activism

After during the treatment, motivated by the experiences and impressions she had gathered, she founded the organization Bald is Beautiful (in German: “ Bald is beautiful”) in 2002. It focuses on self-confidence despite the restrictions of the public and is intended to help women to develop themselves despite the limitations associated with cancer treatment, being comfortable in their bodies and at the same time achieving awareness for programs to combat the type of cancer. Acting career

In 2019, she took on the role of Skrull Soren in the Marvel film adaptation of Captain Marvel . She also appeared briefly in that role in Spider-Man: Far From Home later that year .
