Sharon Paz
Sharon Paz ( Hebrew שרון פז, born 1969 in Israel ) is an Israeli video and performance artist. She lives and works in Berlin and Tel Aviv . In her work she asks social and political questions in relation to her own life.
life and work
Sharon Paz graduated from Tel Aviv University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Education . In 1996 she took part in the free study program at the Beit Berl Art Academy . In 2000 she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Hunter College in New York. Her work has been funded by several institutions such as the Goethe-Institut , the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts (Tel Aviv) and the Kulturfonds Berlin. She was involved in the Berlin Gold Rush artist project art IT and was an artist in residency at the Irish Museum of Modern Art .
She develops installations in black, white and gray tones using video art and performances . She also works with object art and drawings . She produces her work in the media workshop in the BBK Berlin's cultural center . In her works she addresses war, violence, peace, homeland and migration. They have been shown around the world, including several times in New York, Berlin and Israel. Her video works belong to the collection of the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein , the Video-Forum Collection Berlin and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem .
