Shaun Johnston

Shaun Johnston (born September 9, 1958 in Ponoka, Alberta ) is a Canadian actor .

Career

Johnston grew up on a farm in Ponoka, Alberta, between Red Deer and Edmonton . He started out playing basketball, then got a corporate degree from Red Deer College , and later worked for a subdivision of the Alberta Treasury Department . Wanting to start a career as a fashion photographer , he moved to Toronto . He couldn't achieve his goal. Instead, he became a model . Influenced by this experience, he became interested in acting after a few years and returned to Alberta to study theater at Red Deer College . Finally he got oneBFA in the theater program at the University of Alberta .

After graduation, he helped found the Shadow Theater and took his first steps within the Alberta theater scene. He made his first major acting debut in film and television in the comedy Two Brothers, a Girl and a Gun (1993). He received an Alberta Film & Television Award for Best Actor for the role . Since then, he has been involved in many films and television programs, including the X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases (1995), Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years (1995), North of 60 (1997), The Dinosaur Hunter (2000), and multiple episodes by Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension (1995–2002). He has also appeared in episodes of Smallville (2004), Supervolkan (2005) and the film Maythorpe . Eventually he starred in Heartland , a CBC television series .

Over the years as a film actor, Shaun Johnston has not given up his interest in the theater and is still involved in the Shadow Theater . In 2012 he starred in Fool for Love , produced by his theater company, which also appeared in Calgary at the Sage Theater .

Private life

Shaun Johnston is married to Sue Johnston. In his spare time he plays hockey and the guitar .
