Shaun Tan
Shaun Tan (* 1974 in Fremantle , Western Australia ) is an Australian writer and illustrator .
life and work
Shaun Tan specializes in picture books and graphic novels . In 2010 he was the artistic guest of honor at the 68th Worldcon in Melbourne . His award-winning book The Arrival (dt. A new country ) describes in vivid pictures the migration of a father to a foreign country, with completely foreign customs, food and animals. Shaun Tan worked on this book for four years. There is not a single readable word in this book.
He worked as a concept artist on the films Horton hears a who! and WALL · E - The Last Cleans Up Earth , both released in 2008. His film The Lost Thing , which he made with Andrew Ruhemann and which is based on his own book from 1999, has received numerous awards.
