She & Him is an indie - folk duo from the US. It consists of Zooey Deschanel (vocals, piano and banjo) and M. Ward (guitar and producer).

history

M. Ward heard Zooey Deschanel sing in the movie Buddy . He was amazed that Deschanel wrote songs himself and yet was not aiming for a career as a musician. Zooey Deschanel had been recording home demos for years but was too shy to release them. Deschanel sent their demos to M. Ward. After a short while he called her to let her know that he would like to record her songs. The band She & Him was founded. Zooey Deschanel said in an interview: “I've always loved music since I was little. I just loved singing. "
