The Shingo is a left tributary of the Dras in the Pakistani Special Territory of Gilgit-Baltistan and in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh .

The Shingo rises in the Pakistani part of the Himalayas east of the Burzil Pass at an altitude of 3060  m . It flows in an easterly direction through the mountains. A road follows the course of the river over a length of 75 km. 16 km above the mouth, the Shiggar , the most important tributary of the Shingo, meets the river from the left. The last 8 km of the river are in Ladakh, India. The Shingo reaches 12 km west of the district capital Kargil den Dras, a left tributary of the Suru .

The Shingo has a length of about 100 km.
