Shinhwa ( kor : legend ) is a South Korean boy group active since 1998 and thus the oldest active boy group in South Korea. It consists of six members.

history

Shinhwa was cast by SM Entertainment in 1998 and made her debut on March 24, 1998 on the South Korean music show KM Music Tank with her debut single haegyeolsa ( kor. 해결사, dt. Problem solver ). From June 2003 to 2011 she was under contract with Good Entertainment . She then founded her own label, the Shinhwa Company , as the first Korean band . The band is also known outside of South Korea, they performed in the USA, Australia, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan, among others.

  • Lee Min-woo
Lee Min-woo ( Hangeul : 이민우, Hanja : 李 珉 雨; * July 28, 1979) is a singer and was the fourth member selected for the group. A student at JunJoo Fine Arts School, he was discovered by an SM entertainment talent scout while performing with his dance troupe Dicky Ducky in an Everland dance competition. As part of Shinhwa, he was involved in all 13 albums and is still a part of the group.
He published 3 solo albums under the stage name M and played in several dramas and films.
  • Andy Lee
Andy Lee, real name Lee Seon-ho ( Hangeul : 이선호, Hanja : 李先 镐; * January 21, 1981) is one of the rappers of Shinhwa and the second selected member. He was originally intended to be a member of the band HOT with his friend Tony An . However, his parents did not allow it because they felt he was too young for it. When he was older, they let him join Shinhwa. During the fourth album, he took a break to study in the US, but came back for the fifth album, Perfect Man .

Eric Mun, born as Mun Jung-hyuk (Hangeul: 문정혁, Hanja: 文 晸 赫; * February 16, 1979) is the leader of the group and rapper.
  • Kim Dong-wan
Kim Dong-wan (Hangeul: 김동완, Hanja: 金 烔 完; born November 21, 1979) is a Shinhwa singer.
  • Shin Hye-sung
Shin Hye-sungs (Hangeul: 신혜성, Hanja: 申 彗星) birth name is Jung Pil-kyo (Hangeul: 정필 교, Hanja: 鄭 弼 敎; * November 27, 1979), he is the main singer and was the first member of Shinhwa.
  • Park Jun-jin
Born as Park Choong-jae (Hangeul: 박충재, Hanja: 朴 忠 栽; * August 19, 1980), Jun-jin (Hangeul: 전진, Hanja: 前進;) is the rapper and singer of the group. His father (Charlie Park) is also a singer.
