Short Sharp Shock (abbr. SSS ) is an English crossover band from Liverpool , which is under contract to the record label Earache Records .

history

The band released their self-titled debut EP on Dead and Gone Records in 2005 , which includes three short songs typical of the band as well as the seven-minute Black Night, White Light , which is a tribute to Cliff Burton , the late former Metallica bassist . A year later the self-titled debut album was released again on Dead and Gone Records , which brought the band a contract with Earache Records, which re-released the album in 2007. In the following years the albums The Dividing Line and Problems to the Answer were released there , the latter with guest vocals by Barney Greenway , the singer of the grindcore band Napalm Death . In the summer of 2011 Pete Broom and Dave Ferguson left the band and were replaced by Stu Taylor and Dave Archer, both of whom are also active in the band The Bendal Interlude.

The band played concerts with Gallows , Municipal Waste and Killswitch Engage , among others .

style

The band's music was described as a "highly explosive mixture of Bermuda-Shorts-Thrash by Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies , Fies-Thrash of the very old Slayer and Thrashpunk, which is reminiscent of the underground greats Cryptic Slaughter , Wehrmacht , The Accüsed and DRI " described. While the abbreviated band name was written on the cover of the self-titled EP and the first edition of the debut album with three victories , Earache Records chose a more neutral font for the re-release.
